Documentation of the process for creating the catalog of policies for review during the school year. To date, this process has been highly manual and individualized in nature. For the process to be sustainable, a procedure needs to be created that outlines the steps so others can follow them and execute the role in the future.
Working with our Director of Human Resources and legal counsel, we are updating our Personnel Policies. The policies need to be updated for clarity and alignment with State and Federal Law. These policies address sensitive issues such as Domestic Violence, a Drug-Free Workplace, Ethics, and other employment law matters.
We started updating the Student Discipline Policies but have not yet completed the entire process for them. These are key policies for the administration, students, and their families. While they are heavily focused on execution in alignment with State Law, there are still areas where we can customize the process for Reading-specific interpretation and execution, which will help clarify expectations for all involved.
These policies are crucial for protecting our students and staff. There have also been multiple legal updates in alignment with these policies that we need to reflect.
